Wampole

Wampole is a herbal health products brand.

Situation:

The Government Health Branch does not allow a pharmaceutical brand to make a claim. It’s either show your brand without a claim, or make a claim without showing your brand.

Insight:

Contrary to our assumptions we found that a majority of people considered herbals to be still in the realm of snake oil and folk remedies. So, we investigated true, yet bizarre folk remedies and their health claims and suggested Wampole Herbals as an alternative, thus safely navigating around government regulations.

Effects:

The campaign was successful and the company was sold at a premium. It’s also curator hand-picked for inclusion in the inaugural and permanent collection of The Royal Ontario Museum and The Canadian Graphic Design History Project.
